I am a landscape/nature photographer located in the San Francisco Bay Area and have lived here almost all my life. I started in a black & white darkroom where I developed my passion for my two careers: chemistry and photography. And while photography is very enjoyable it doesn't exactly pay the electric bills, so in my day job I am employed as a research chemist. Fortunately, I find both jobs equally fascinating.
Philosophy: photographs tell unique stories, and are creative expressions of the world around us. Photography helps me deal with life, by seeing and reliving a moment forever.

Mark, found your site just surfing for zenfolio info. These are incredible, more so for me b/c I am also from the SF Bay Area and went hiking through Zion (just the standard tourist route though!) You are very talented, and I agree with your "photography philosophy." Keep up the great work and the site.
